After
Fallon Sherrock miraculously made it to the knockout stage of the
Grand Slam of Darts, voices were raised on social media from darts fans and some followers that the PDC should give her a PDC
Tour Card.
But the 27-year-old from Milton Keynes can also win a PDC Tour Card at the Grand Slam of Darts on her own. The Queen of the Palace gets a Tour Card when she is in the top 64 of the PDC Order of Merit after the upcoming World Darts Championship.
By reaching the last eight at the Grand Slam of Darts, she has already earned £20,000 during that tournament. It is expected that 45,000 to 50,000 pounds is needed to be in the top 64 after the World Championship. If Sherrock manages to win her quarter-final match against Peter Wright, she will go to £40,000 already.
As Sherrock has qualified for the World Championships, for which she receives at least 7500 pounds, a semi-final at the Grand Slam of Darts would bring her to 47,500 pounds. That could be good enough for a PDC Tour Card. If Sherrock even makes it to the final in Wolverhampton, she will get a Tour Card for 2022 without needing the prize money from the World Championship later this year.
