The nineteenth edition of the UK Open starts on Friday and until the tournament known as the FA Cup of Darts begins, DartsNews takes a look back at special moments and matches from the history of the tournament.
The year is 2006 and Raymond van Barneveld was making his tournament debut at the UK Open after an incredible first year in the PDC.
He defeated Barrie Bates in Bolton to claim his first major title including en route defeating Phil Taylor in the Quarter-Finals.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
