Raymond van Barneveld lost out early on at the UK Open but despite that, he looks back on his first few weeks back on the PDC Tour with satisfaction.
Van Barneveld lost out to the impressive Alan Soutar and the Dutch legend gave credit to the Scot.
"It was not my game at all. I started very badly and never really got into my game. Alan, who, just like myself, recently won a Tour Card, played very well and never let me get into the game," said Barney to RTL 7.
Nevertheless, the five-time World Champion is pleased with the past few weeks.
"It was very nice to return to the professional circuit and see everyone again. I never thought I would win a Pro Tour so quickly. The UK Open may have come a little too soon, although it is a shame that I went out so quickly because this is possibly the only major I can freely participate in this year. I now mainly focus on the Pro Tours to secure qualification for the World Championship. "
