Belgium failed to take its first success at the 2023
World Cup of Darts.
Dimitri Van den Bergh and
Kim Huybrechts went down 8-7 against Wales in the semi-finals.
"The better team wins here today," Huybrechts opened to VTM 2. "I said, keep believing in yourself and then we'll see. The Welshmen missed after that and we came back into the match. We wanted to win super badly today, and you saw that too," adds Van den Bergh.
Huybrechts regretted some missed chances. "I miss three darts on double sixteen and I blame those on myself. It's those details in the match, and of course you can't miss them. I just wanted to win the World Cup of Darts, for our country. I've been close a few times, but it shouldn't have been. Next year we'll try again."
"I thought we played a world-class game," said Van den Bergh. "Again against this team, we only lose 8-7. We find it sour, but I'm sure I'll wake up tomorrow with the realisation that we fought like lions."
