Dimitri van den Bergh will make his debut in the Premier League in 2021 and reflecting with the PDC, he discussed being a part of those line-up and called it a dream come true.
"It's all of them dreams that you've been working hard for and all of a sudden they become reality. So I cannot wait to play there as one of the established players like I'm not a contender, I'm in the full event now and it's insane," said Van den Bergh to the PDC.
"I feel that I get recognised now. I feel like all the other players know that I can play in long situation game after game. I've worked hard for it so it feels good, I feel stronger, I feel better. I still have so many years ahead of me so I'm curious what's going to come and what's going to happen in the future."
Move to England
In tandem with that, a move to England will follow for Van den Bergh who revealed the Premier League was a big deciding factor.
"The biggest reason I am coming over to the UK with my missus is so we don't have to be away from each other for a long time. She is going to be part of the company that I built up now.
"The Premier League obviously because we have to play so many tournaments in England. The travelling is going to be too difficult so to be located in England, it's going to make everything a lot easier. I don't have to be worried by flights or anything so I hope the choice we are making is going to work out in my benefit."
Operation after the Masters
He will have an operation on his knee after this weekend's Masters and he said that it's a scary thought and one he isn't looking forward to.
"We were lucky to go away for a few days and I feel relaxed. Don't really know if I want to come back to the darts, I'm actually enjoying the fact that stress is gone."
"I'm a little bit nervous about the knee operation. I don't know what's going to happen after then. I'm a bit scared of it."
