Dimitri van den Bergh lost out to Peter Wright last month in the final of the World Matchplay but instead of being disappointed, he takes a pragmatic approach believing he has time on his side.
"Peter is one of them that I've learned a lot from in that time when it was needed, he said stay with us and see what happens. I had a lot of time to reflect and afterwards I came back and managed to win that World Matchplay and on my debut it was insane," said Van den Bergh on the Not So Late Night Darts Show.
"In that final, I gave my heart. I fought until the very end, it just wasn't meant to be. But at the end of the day, Peter played a fantastic tournament. I know he had a 105 overall average, you win some you lose some."
"You've got to take it on the chin, you've got to look at it this way. I'm only 27, I've got so many years ahead of me so hopefully I can repeat history."
