Van der Voort didn't notice any difference in standard during PDC Summer Series: "Even now, the same players are the best even after four months"

The World Matchplay will start in Milton Keynes this Saturday with Vincent van der Voort securing his qualification for this due to the PDC Summer Series.

Due to Coronavirus though, it will be played again without a crowd at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes: "Nice to be there, it will be a unique edition this year," Van der Voort tells AD.nl .

So Van der Voort managed to qualify, but he was not entirely delighted with his form. “It was a bit of a shock after four months of doing nothing, I am not very fond of online darts and therefore lacked rhythm. I'm going to prepare well this week to see if I can get a little better again. ”

During the past PDC Summer Series though, Van der Voort didn't notice much difference in the best players returning to form.

“Even now, the same players are always the best, even after four months. Van Gerwen's performance may have varied, but he was the only one to win two tournaments. In addition, Peter Wright was good every day, he continued where he left off. Price was also in the final again on the final day. ”
