Vincent van der Voort will begin his World Matchplay campaign on Monday evening when he faces off against Dave Chisnall in the first round.

It will be his tenth time playing in the second biggest ranking tournament in the PDC and he has only reached the Last Eight once back in 2009, all others have been first round exits.
In terms of playing behind closed doors, this isn't something that Van der Voort is an advocate for due to the crowd reception he receives.
"For me, playing without an audience is not an advantage. In general, the crowd is on my side”, Van der Voort said to De Telegraaf .
"It can be an advantage for some dart players, who are sometimes called a whistle. In addition, you also have players who cannot play well on stage. Now everything is different. Although we play on a stage, there is nothing else. It will feel more like a floor tournament. ”
In terms of facing Chisnall, he said he doesn't care who he draws barring a particular player: "In my case you always get someone from the top 16 and then you know that they have earned their stripes. The only one I didn't want to draw was Michael, I don't care about the rest."

Return to action during PDC Summer Series

Earlier this month, Van der Voort played in the PDC Summer Series and his top form wasn't on display but he still managed to qualify for the World Matchpaly.
"It was very uncomfortable," he said on the PDC Summer Series. "You have trained for months and then you have a different rhythm and feeling. I just missed game rhythm. I played reasonably well for two days, but I also really didn't play well for two days. ”
What are the expectations for his match against Chisnall? "I did everything to prepare properly. I just don't know where exactly I am yet. ”
