The PDC circuit will resume from July 8-12 with the Summer Series which sees five Players Championship tournaments take place in Milton Keynes.
The Players Championship tournaments which are in the PDC
Summer Series are set to be played behind closed doors at the Marshall Arena which sees all 128 Tour Card holders invited; it is seen as the perfect place for a bubble with it housing a hotel inside the complex.
A prize pool of £ 75,000 is available per event, with the winner will as usual claim £10,000 which would go onto rankings.
However, this is subject to change. If non-UK darts players are unable to travel to the UK due to quarantine measures, the prize money will not count towards the PDC Order of Merit. However, non-ranked tournaments are organised for UK-based players.
According to
Vincent van der Voort that may not happen as supposedly an alternative is being considered; he tells RTL Nieuws.
''In that case they are trying to set up something like that in the Netherlands as well'', Van der Voort revealed. ''But that's very difficult of course. They have their own organisation in the United Kingdom, but outside the borders they have to rely on others.''
More news about the Summer Series is expected on June 29. According to the latest reports, it is expected that the quarantine measures will be relaxed. Van der Voort added: ''But in that case you still get tested before you are allowed to enter the hotel.
Also you are not allowed to leave the hotel during the event, but quarantine is not needed anymore. I think we should be happy if tournaments are allowed to be played at this time.''
