Dirk van Duijvenbode claimed a thrilling 10-9 victory over Gary Anderson to book his spot in the Last 32 of the
UK Open.
Van Duijvenbode spoke about receiving the draw and how despite beating him at the Super Series, it turned into a 'nervy' tie.
"I was looking on PDC's Twitter and saw Michael (van Gerwen)'s out, Peter (Wright) and Gerwyn (Price) is out and then I was like it could be a good draw and then it was Gary Anderson," said Van Duijvenbode post match.
"I beat him last weekend so I was like I am confident to beat him again. But it was a tough game, it went very nervy and I'm lucky in the end."
When asked about upcoming goals, Van Duijvenbode added that it'd be stupid to think far ahead especially for tournaments he isn't even assured of being in.
"In the UK Open, it's all about draws and the upcoming events I'm not even qualified for so why should I give myself high goals when I'm not even qualified. It's ridiculous I think."
"My first goal is to qualify for the World Matchplay and World Grand Prix again so I think that's very important."
