Peter Wright and
Michael van Gerwen are the first two players to secure a spot in the semi-finals on Thursday night at
Premier League Darts in Liverpool.
Wright finally secured his first victory after five defeats. It took 'Snakebite' a huge amount of effort, though. The Scot led 5-2, but then missed a cartload of match-darts. Price came back to 5-5 and missed three match-darts himself in the last leg. Then Wright finally managed to hit the double with his ninth match-dart.
Van Gerwen dealt with
Jonny Clayton in the second quarter-final. With finishes of 104 and 74, 'Mighty Mike' took a 2-1 lead before breaking Clayton with a 13-darter. The Dutchman stormed into a 6-2 win and will take on Wright later this evening for a place in the weekly final.
