Wednesday afternoon it was announced that Michael van Gerwen will make his comeback during the Dutch Darts Masters at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on Friday.
Van Gerwen has been performing extremely well at PDC tournaments in the Netherlands for years. Looking at his record since 2012, he has won 83.9 percent of his matches in the Netherlands.
In the past ten years Van Gerwen played a total of 56 official matches on Dutch soil. Of those, no less than 47 were won.
Especially in the period 2014 to 2017, Van Gerwen was unbeatable in the Netherlands. In those years, 'Mighty Mike' did not lose a match in his own country and he triumphed 22 times in a row at various PDC tournaments in the Netherlands.
