Van Gerwen, Humphries, Clayton and Van Duijvenbode among early winners as Price, Van Barneveld and Cross out at Players Championship 7

The first round is well underway at Players Championship 7 with Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries, Jonny Clayton and Dirk van Duijvenbode all through in Hildesheim.

Humphries in particular impressed with a 109 average against Mensur Suljovic 6-3, while Dave Chisnall hit a 105 average in taking down Callum Goffin 6-1.

Van Gerwen only averaged 88 but eased past Jacques Labre 6-0, while Van Duijvenbode eased past Ricardo Pietreczko 6-2. Gerwyn Price on the other hand averaged 97 in a 6-5 defeat to Kevin Doets.

While Rob Cross lost out to Ross Montgomery and Raymond van Barneveld was defeated by Martin Schindler early on.
