Michael van Gerwen has recovered enough from his back-injury to participate in the two final days of the PDC Winter Series on Friday and Saturday, he confirmed to Dutch website Dartsnieuws.
The world number one had already decided to skip the first three days of the PDC Winter Series prior to last weekend's World Cup of Darts. However, Van Gerwen suffered an injury (trapped nerve) during the World Cup of Darts and was treated for this in the hospital.
It was then uncertain whether he could play against Germany together with Danny Noppert. He did at the end, but the Dutch duo lost to Max Hopp and Gabriel Clemens in the pairs. After the tournament Mighty Mike wanted to wait with deciding whether he would compete during the PDC Winter Series.
However he made the decision early this week and traveled to Coventry on Wednesday for the last two Players Championship events of the season.
