Gerwyn Price claimed victory in the final of the latest PDC Winter Series but he nearly didn't turn up to Day Three, he revealed post match.
Price said that he has gone to head home twice and that a trip to KFC has helped clear his head of sorts and he has stayed longer. But he did reveal that he will not play on Friday and will have a day off.
"It was a bit poor I think. I've lost games this week and I've played brilliant and I've won a final and played poor," said Price.
"I think I got myself in front and let myself down in that game. I think he was just clutching at straws. I thought I was in control of that game but I thought he was going to pinch it at the end."
"I've gone home twice. I've had a really bad head all week and I've gone on the dual carriageway, had a bit of food KFC and thought I feel alright now I'll go back. I did that twice.
"I am actually home today. Have a day off tomorrow and come back Saturday. I need a little break, just one day. We need testing again on Saturday so I may as well come back and play on Saturday."

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
