Van Gerwen misses family during busy Premier League schedule: 'It's difficult sometimes'

Michael van Gerwen managed to break through a barren run of three Premier League Darts defeats in a row on Sunday evening with a victory over Michael Smith.

Van Gerwen played significantly better than in the three games prior and eventually managed to overcome Bully Boy 8-5.

"I made it very difficult for myself, because there was now a lot of pressure on the match", a relieved van Gerwen told RTL7Darts.

"Three defeats in a row is not something that often happens to me, so I just have to make sure that it goes better. Today (Sunday) it was fine and under this pressure I showed good form", continued MVG.

Mighty Mike ended the match with a kiss on his wedding ring and a gesture to the camera.

"It is difficult now and then. Of course you will be away from home for a week and next week I will not be home yet. If it does not work then you also make it extra difficult for yourself", van Gerwen concluded to RTL7Darts.
