Stephen Bunting lost out to Peter Wright in an absolute thriller on Stage Two at the 2023 UK Open but nearly left with a nine-dart finish for his troubles.
Bunting went the usual 180-180-141 route but missed double 12 before nearly going onto lose the leg as he missed double after double attempting to force a decider.
He finally pinned double three but lost in the end to 'Snakebite'. Watch the video below.

- What a undignified way to bow out of the darts for the greatest darts player ever, absolutely the best. Nobody was as dedicated or committed or even half as good as Phil. He completely dominated darts, not only the greatest darts player ever but also one of the greatest sportsman ever. Ayrton Senna is my ultimate hero but Phil won 16 World Championships, Eric only won 5 and that won't be surpassed. Thank you Phil, not my most favourite player but certainly the greatest and loved watching you completely destroy every opponent, almost never missed a treble or any check out. - I don't have a problem with someone being whoever they want to be, but ultimately there is a Ladies and Mens format for a reason. What is going to stop substandard men claiming that they are transgender and entering the ladies format for an opportunity to increase their profile, prize money, ranking etc etc. We know that the current crop of PDC players will suck up to van Leuven and will not speak out.richieburnettrocks23-10-2024
- The bottom line is Beau will be a triple World Champion soon. She is so many levels better than the rest of the ladies. Lorraine and Aileen have never really raised their game, I really expected the quality of the ladies game to have improved but excluding Beau, it seems to have detiorated.
