VIDEO: Gary Anderson painfully reminds English fans of Euro 2024 final result after anti-Scotland chants

One of the absolute crowd favourites, Gary Anderson's name was sung several times on Monday night in his match against Michael Smith at the World Matchplay. However, the now typical chant of "Scotland get battered, everywhere they go" also echoed through the Winter Gardens more than once.

At one point, Anderson decided to retort to the fans in the iconic venue. He raised two fingers with his right hand and one finger with his left, referring to England's 2-1 defeat against Spain in the final of Euro 2024 the night prior. The Scot could not help but raise a huge grin in the process as well.

The laughter faded from Anderson later in the match though sadly. The two-time world champion had already squandered a 3-0 lead early on in the match and eventually lost out to Smith 10-5. After a weak start, Smith managed to raise his level considerably, eventually posting an average of 102.
