A remarkable incident took place on Wednesday evening during the tie between Glen Durrant and Diogo Portela at the 2020 PDC World Darts Championship.
After Durrant claimed the second set, he left his darts in the board and walked off stage for the interval between the first and second sets.
However, Portela wanted to stay on stage and practice before the third set however that wasn't possible as Durrant left his darts in the board.
Portela couldn't remove them due to Coronavirus measures and Durrant apologised for this giving his reasoning on Twitter.
"I’ve no idea why I left my darts in board, that point I was mentally all over the place and it’s left a sour taste in my mouth - I’m sorry no disrespect intentional."
