Rob Cross will take on Michael Smith tonight in the quarterfinals of the
World Matchplay. Prior to that match, he was asked a few short questions.
So Cross was asked about who his ideal training partner is. "Gerwyn Price and Luke Humphries," he said confidently. As for who has the best walk-on, he doesn't have to think long, either. "It's got to be Nathan Aspinall. He gets everybody jumping doesn't he."
There are many athletes who are very superstitious, but Cross does not suffer from that. "I try not to have too many. When I play I drink loads of water. Keep hydrated."

Cross won the World Matchplay in 2019 but he sees one final if he reaches it this year "Humphries as we seem to play a lot of finals together."
He also mused on what makes Blackpool so special. "I think it's the Winter Gardens. I respect the crowd and all. They've always been respectful to me. I have a great following. Definitely just being the Winter Gardens in Blackpool."
