James Wade had an unorthodox way of starting his preparation towards the
World Grand Prix as he bought a car for £501 and drove 501 miles across the UK to raise money and awareness for Bipolar UK.
He took a
diary of his time on the road and towards the end, he was challenged by WWE wrestler, Trent Seven thankfully for him to a game of darts with the World Grand Prix now next on his agenda.
"I didn’t think I’d be saying this but today I played darts against a famous wrestler that has starred in Transformers. Our first stop in Wolverhampton (Walsall Wood Tyres) saw WWE star Trent Seven turn up to challenge me," said Wade to the Daily Star.
"Thankfully he meant darts! I had a curry last night and don’t really fancy being clotheslined or body slammed at 9am. He is a good dart player and a great guy. It starts to feel like we are going home as we head to Aylesbury and then High Wycombe before moving into London to finish the rally at Bipolar UK headquarters near King’s Cross.
"I am delighted and proud to have raised thousands of pounds, but also awareness of the condition and the benefits of talking about it. If I don’t see another Ford Focus it will be too soon! But I wouldn’t change a thing
"I now head home to prepare for next week’s World Grand Prix in Leicester. It is a tournament that I always feel I should do well in (with a double start) and I feel happy and comfortable in myself and that is always good news for me."
