Last week saw
Gary Anderson seal the sixth week of
Premier League Darts action as he came from the bottom and huge odds to win in Nottingham.
Mark Webster admitted that he had written off Anderson previously but gave him credit for how he bounced back.
"Fair play to him, it was nervy against Jonny (Clayton) but that was the Gary Anderson of old, he hadn't had a ton plus average coming into tonight, well he's proved his form is there now," he said to Online Darts.
"Credit to Gary I doubted him, we all doubted him. He probably doubted himself to a point, if you come into a Premier League after six nights with two points, you're gonna get criticism. That's how you respond."
But he also discussed the contrasting performances of Jonny Clayton, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price and in the case of the former arresting poor form.
"It looks a bit of a chore. I still think he will make the play-offs, he needs to find his form back. Jonny Clayton's had an inconsistent three weeks without being terrible but we jump on it and that's what happened to Gary Anderson."
"The complacency was there but let's not do a disservice to Gerwyn Price. I thought he did well, we were expecting nothing of him but credit to him."
