Wind problem and dartboard bothered Van Duijvenbode in Petersen defeat

Dirk van Duijvenbode missed the opportunity to qualify for the Last 16 straight away at the Grand Slam of Darts losing out to Devon Petersen in the end.

The game started after a short delay due to a breeze on the stage. Van Duijvenbode seemed to suffer from that interruption and lost out 5-2.

"My arrows were straight and had no problems. At one point it was said that there was no more wind and that we were going to start. Then I thought that my arrows were skewed and then it doesn't seem to matter, '' said an irritated Van Duijvenbode afterwards in front of the RTL 7 cameras.

The dartboard did not cooperate either. Both players suffered from multiple bounce-outs. "Mine were more expensive in my opinion. I had them in legs that I lost and Devon had them in legs that he won. ''

On Thursday, 'The Titan' will have to win against Ian White to have a chance to secure progression to the second round. "If I had won, I would have continued. Now I am not through. I don't want to count at all, just win and then I'll see what happens. ''
