Luke Woodhouse is through to the second round of the 2021/22 PDC
World Darts Championship after seeing off James Wilson.
Woodhouse spoke afterwards and wasn't pleased with his display due to how he's been practicing in the run-up to the tournament.
"The amount of times I go up there and say if things go wrong don't start beating yourself up and as soon as they say game on, I miss a couple or throw a couple of bad handfuls and then I'm not saying my head goes but it's fighting yourself to play well. I've been practicing so well, the last three or four weeks I've probably been practicing as well as I've ever practiced. it didn't work out like that today," said Woodhouse post match.
He also discussed the Covid-19 situation and playing in blocks during the Super Series which he admits he didn't adapt to well.
"I wasn't in the best frame of mind. The whole Covid-19 situation, when obviously we went on stage and play in an empty room. That wasn't my cup of tea."
"The last 18 months has not been good for me at all to the point where I need to have events every weekend, it suits me better because it keeps me playing. I struggle for motivation to keep picking up everyday. When it's the weekend events, it'll keep me ticking over."
