Rodriguez in bullish mood after Robb win: "I'm not playing to keep my Tour Card, I'm playing to go top 16"

Rusty-Jake Rodriguez is through to the second round of the 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship and was bullish post match showing confidence given to him after a quality year.

"I knew that I was favourite and if I played my game, he couldn't beat me. I knew I could win from the start," said Rodriguez post match.

"It's the reason I'm talking like this with a lot of confidence as the Development Tour gave me a really good boost and as well as the Players Championship."

"It was my debut so I knew that I've got nothing to lose. I knew that I'm going to win but if I lose, I've got nothing to lose, I've got my Tour Card now."

But for Rodriguez, he isn't here to make up the numbers and wants to achieve big goals in the sport.

"I'm not playing to keep my Tour Card, I'm playing to go top 16, that's my goal. Otherwise I wouldn't play so watch out. I can be very good."
