Peter Wright surged past Fallon Sherrock on Saturday night ending the run of the Queen of the Palace in a stunning 16-13 win.
Wright survived some sensational darts from Sherrock who he was full of praise for after claiming the victory.
"Every single leg she didn't give up, it's not just because she's a woman, she's playing fantastic. Every single time she's putting me under pressure, was saying we went off before that last break and I did 11, 10, 11 and she was still there with me all time. There's not many darts players in the top four that can do that with me,"
"Hopefully the crowd enjoyed it and even if I'd lost the game, I would have put my hands up and go wow, that was amazing. It was nice to be part of a game like that."
Sherrock for Premier League?
But with the debate on Sherrock for Premier League rolling on, would Wright have her involved?
"If It was my choice, I would have her in because she'd put bums on seats and inspires the women's game and youngsters at school. She will inspire them. But we all know the Premier League is a horrible and nasty place and it can destroy people but she can handle it."
"It's not ranked, it's about the best darts players in the world so what about the best women's dart player in the world."
