Peter Wright as a fans favourite will have missed the crowds more than most during the Coronavirus pandemic but 'Snakebite's walk-on returned as did the adulation from 1,000 fans inside the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes.
This saw him snap his Premier League Darts losing streak and show some fight in the play-off race as he dealt with James Wade 8-4 and he admitted he was 'inspired' by the fans.
"You could see me on stage how much I enjoyed it, even if I've come off that stage losing that match because James is playing some amazing darts, hitting some huge averages and losing somehow. I knew I had a tough game but it was the crowd that inspired me. I'm so alive," said Wright post match.
"When I was up there, what a feeling even my walk-on. That was wow, we're back to darts. I know it's only a smallish crowd compared to what we normally have but that's a good start."
On his play-off chances, he admitted it's going to be hard but that he will try his best to complete the feat.
"It's going to be difficult. But I believe that I can beat all them players. Especially now with that little help. Watch this space."
