Wright not `100% after surviving Chisnall comeback at Masters: "I didn't ease off, I just didn't feel well going up there"

Peter Wright has qualified for the quarterfinals at the Masters. 'Snakebite' defeated Dave Chisnall 10-8 in the second round.

But all isn't as it seems as Wright admitted that he was feeling unwell which led to a poor display in the latter half of the tie.

"I didn't ease off, I just didn't feel well going up there. I was surprised I got so much of a lead, it was only because Chizzy he wasn't hitting the trebles like he was yesterday so the first two sessions I got away with it.

"I done hardly any practice with these darts since I got home from last week (Copenhagen) because I'm happy with them."

This also stemmed from the walk-on where he nearly fell over. "The trainers are too grippy and they gripped the carpet and I'm getting heavier and older so I can't levitate over the floor anymore.

Going into the Premier League, Wright admits he used to lament the Masters but is now a tournament he wants to win.

"I used to turn up to the Masters and go ughh it's after Christmas but the year I won it, I went I want to win this and I had the feeling and I went and won it. I've got the same feeling but if I feel like this tomorrow it's going to be hard work."
