Wright responds to comment Van Gerwen: 'He's still in my pocket'

A lot has been made of the rivalry between Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen with the latter claiming the bragging rights during the opening foray of the 2021 Premier League Darts.

Wright replied at the time with a tongue and cheek comment that it was only the once that he has beaten him recently and referencing to two prior times when he was in his pocket.

''I love Michael to bits, he's a fantastic player. We've got our banter in the sport, good on him. He's only got me in the pocket once, but did he remember the two times I've been before that? So he's still in my pocket I think'', he joked.

He also discussed how many sets of darts are with him while he was at the Marshall Arena for the Premier League due to his tendency to tinker.

"I think I've seven sets with me. How many of them I expect to use? It depends how I wake up and which my brain tells me to use. So it's just the way I feel."
