Peter Wright has been in imperious form over the past two weeks winning three titles in five days and being on a 19 match unbeaten streak after taking out Vincent van der Voort in Round One of the World Matchplay.
Wright spoke afterwards about how this time around in Blackpool he feels great after previously feeling tired and fatigued in previous editions.
He added in a statement befitting of his form that in his opinion, whoever he plays will have to be playing well to beat him otherwise they will be going home.
"I had to play really well because Vincent was fantastic," said Wright, who posted the highest winning average of round one.
"It's about time I come into this tournament feeling good, I normally come into it feeling tired and its felt like hard work. This time I'm feeling nice and fresh.
"Whoever I play in this tournament will have to play well, otherwise they're going home."
