Glen Durrant, alongside the likes of Jamie Hughes and Mark McGeeney have enjoyed a brilliant start to life on the PDC circuit after being among a contingent of players to come through Q-School having switched from the BDO.
Durrant and Hughes have both claimed ranking titles in their first few months on the PDC tour which gained them both a debut at the World Matchplay only seven months in and now 'Duzza' has urged the likes of Richard Veenstra and Wesley Harms to give the PDC a go.
Veenstra and Harms are two of the most high-profile players left on the
BDO circuit and he called them fantastic while talking to Dutch television after
his win over Adrian Lewis; but that if they want to test themselves, they need to come over to the PDC. He finished it off with a plea to the duo to switch over.
''The BDO has some fantastic players, like Richard Veenstra and Wesley Harms. They are fantastic players. But if Richard and Wesley want to play the best players in the world, they have to come over to the PDC'', he told RTL 7.
''I'm having a fantastic time. Wesley and Richard, come and join me'', Durrant added.
MVG Clash
Durrant will face off against Michael van Gerwen tonight (Tuesday) in a bumper session of action which will see the BDO World Champion take on the PDC World Champion.
'Duzza' spoke ahead of it and admitted that he respects him so much but that the World Number One will have to be at his very best to see off the Teesside ace in a hotly anticipated clash.
''When I came to the PDC, I was like how good am I. Michael van Gerwen is the best player in the world. I asked for his shirt the last time I played him. I respect him so much. Now I get the opportunity to play him on Tuesday night and he will have to play very well to beat me.''
