Zonneveld on warning from referee Bray: "He thought I was too preoccupied with the crowd"

Niels Zonneveld provided a shock on the opening night of the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam. The 23-year-old Dutchman defeated the World Number Twelve Dave Chisnall 6-3.

"I actually have no words for it, but this is great. It's a dream come true. I was not nervous to play in front of this crowd, on the contrary, it gives me extra strength to play in my own country", said Zonneveld to RTL 7.

Warning

During the match, Zonneveld received a warning from referee Russ Bray. "He thought I was too preoccupied with the crowd, but that's part of life in my home country. That I threw my darts away at the end was perhaps not very clever, but that was in the emotion of the moment", concludes the Dutchman.
