Zonneveld set to miss European Tour in Riesa after positive Coronavirus test; World Championship participation at risk

Darter Niels Zonneveld has tested positive for the corona virus, he reports to Darts Actueel. As a result, he will not be able to participate in the Euro Tour tournament in Riesa this weekend.

Zonneveld tested positive at the beginning of October and immediately had to go into self-isolation. Zonneveld showed symptoms of the virus, but he is now free of these once more. However, the virus has not yet disappeared from his body, as a new test showed this week.

When entering Germany, he must show a negative COVID-19 test that has been taken more than 48 hours earlier. Only private tests are accepted by Germany and the PDC.

There is little chance that the virus will fully disappear from Zonneveld's body in the short term, which also puts the end of this season in danger for him. That does not suit him, because he currently occupies one of the last qualifying spots for the PDC World Championship. Without participation, he will lose his PDC Tour Card at the end of this year.
