Danny Noppert was eliminated in the second round of the World Grand Prix for a second successive year. The Dutchman lost 3-2 to Nathan Aspinall on Wednesday evening.

The former Lakeside champion made a mistake in the fourth set as he was convinced that he was winning the match. ''With that 85 bullseye finish I thought I had won the game. But no...'', Noppert told RTL 7.

Noppert was leading 2-1 in sets at that time, but faced a 2-0 deficit in the fourth set. Instead of winning the match, he just made 2-1 in the fourth set with that 85 finish.

Therefore Noppie made a mistake and ended up losing to Aspinall after a final fifth set. "It's just a shame, unfortunately. It could have been much more, but the luck was not on my side. I am disappointed with this'', he added.
