Van Gerwen disapproves possible comeback Taylor: 'I think it's a bit ridiculous'

Van Gerwen has a clear opinion about a possible return of his 59-year-old rival. ''Of course I would love to play against him, but I think it's a bit ridiculous. He has retired, and why would you want to go back at that age?'', the world number one told RTL 7.

"That says something about how boring his life is. I would make other decisions if I had his wallet. Would you like to fully focus on the tournaments 365 days a year? And can he do that?"

The journeys and work duties were exactly the reasons why Taylor retired after the 2018 PDC World Darts Championship. ''Why should he lower himself like that? I think he shouldn't do that'', Van Gerwen added.
