Beau Greaves averaged nearly 93 in easing past Kirsty Hutchinson and sealing the WDF
Lakeside Women's World Championship.
For Greaves who only let Hutchinson have a solitary leg, it was the culmination of a darting rise as the Doncaster thrower finally achieved her promise.
"I've never been as happy as I am in my life. Just to come off the stage and say to people I'm a World Champion, that can never been taken away from me now. That is mine forever and I will hold onto that for as long as it's there and I can't wait to go and celebrate with my family," said Greaves to Tungsten Tales.
"I knew I had to get a head start against Kirsty because I knew that aggression was coming out at some point. I said to her afterwards that her darts just weren't dropping in the treble as much as you would have liked. She's amazing, she's a genuine person and I couldn't ask for a better person to play in the final."
"Sometimes it's just not your day. She deserves everything she earns in darts. I felt as if it was just two friends playing each other and that's probably why I played so well."
