McEwan and Hyde win WDF British Classic titles

Jim McEwan and Lorraine Hyde have won the singles tournaments of the WDF British Classic on Sunday evening. This tournament is part of the British Open in Bridlington.

McEwan claimed the title in the men's event. The Scotsman defeated Rhys Hayden 6-5 in the final match, after McEwan took out 160 in the deciding leg.

In the ladies' category, the tournament was surprisingly won by Lorraine Hyde, who beat Denise Cassidy 5-1 in the final. Hyde had beaten Anastasia Dobromyslova in the semi-finals, while Cassidy defeated Corrine Hammond in the same round. Hammond knocked out Fallon Sherrock earlier in the quarter-finals.
