Four men were in the unusual position of qualifying for both the PDC
World Darts Championship and the WDF World Championship at
Lakeside. The PDC prohibits players from entering both tournaments, leaving them with a choice of where to enter.
The same was true earlier for Beau Greaves and Noa-Lynn van Leuven in the women's event. Greaves chose to defend her women's world title at Lakeside, while Van Leuven heads to Alexandra Palace for her debut at the PDC World Championship.
Among the men, Wesley Plaisier, Leonard Gates, Ben Robb and Connor Scutt had yet to tie a knot. However, the WDF announced Monday that all four are missing from the WDF World Championships from Dec. 2 to 10 in Frimley Green.
Plaisier and Scutt will qualify through the Pro Tour for the most important darts tournament of the year at the PDC. Gates forced placement through the CDC Tour, while Robb secured a spot through the DPNZ Tour.
