Chris Landman will play Andy Baetens in the
Lakeside final on Sunday night. Landman could become the fourth Dutchman to take the title at the iconic home of darts.
Christian Kist was the last Dutch winner in Frimley Green, all the way back in 2012.
Kist followed in the footsteps of Raymond van Barneveld and Jelle Klaasen on that night by crowning himself BDO world champion. The darter from Vroomshoop was making his Lakeside debut at the time.
After a fine opening match against Jan Dekker (3-2), Kist was too strong for Geert de Vos (4-2), Alan Norris (5-1) and Ted Hankey (6-5) for a spot in the final. He then defeated Tony O'Shea 7-5 to take the world title.
