Gary Anderson has highest annual average in ranking tournaments before World Darts Championship

Gary Anderson had a strong season this year, including three tournament victories on the Pro Tour. In fact, "The Flying Scotsman" has the highest annual average in ranking tournaments of any player on the PDC Tour.
The two-time world champion played 112 matches in ranking tournaments this season. Anderson's annual average over these matches averages 98.99 points per turn.
Number two on the list is Gerwyn Price, who averaged 98.81 points per turn in his 111 ranking matches. Luke Humphries' annual average ended at 98.63 after no fewer than 152 matches. Michael van Gerwen (97.65 average) and Gian van Veen (96.56) complete the top five, while Ross Smith finished sixth with an annual average of 96.53.

- obviously littler has the potential to surpass everybody simply because nobody has been this good at this age before, but people who think he would be any kind of favourite right now against prime taylor in a big final have short memories. it's obvious that prime taylor wouldn't win as many world titles if he was playing today, but there's also good reason to believe he'd be winning more than anybody else. hell, his statistical profile still stands alone in darts history and he might statistically be even better if he was playing today with better equipment, larger beds, more competition therefore more motivation, etc.colt24-03-2025
