Steve Brown as well as being joined by his son John on the PDC ProTour this year has been kept busy by other tasks also including the launch of MAD (Modern Amateur Darts).
Brown spoke recently to Online Darts to reveal that a partnership has been signed with the UKDA (United Kingdom Darts Association) who run the county system going forward.
"We're in talks with many organisations and after nearly 12 months with the UKDA, we're going to announce our partnership," said Brown to Online Darts.
"It's a powerful message, some people misconstrued that we might be in competition against each other and it's certainly not like that. We complement each other very well."
"We've got some great projects, some great opportunities for county and super league players so what MAD is doing is a bit of sugar on the top of what is already a great system."
"There will be lots of benefits for UKDA members."
He was also asked about his feelings regarding the BDO World Championship trophy being seized towards the turn of the year by Des Jacklin with Wayne Warren, current champion of his organisation.
"I felt it was distasteful. I don't know Des as a person, I think he had a very difficult task in trying to save the BDO. A lot of people blame him for the demise of it but I think it was a ship heading for an iceberg anyway."
