Jamie Lewis will challenge Jim Williams in April for the MAD Welsh Championship after winning a qualifying tournament on Sunday.
Lewis defeated Rhys Davies in his first match 8-3 before taking care of Derek Williams 8-4.
In the final, he met a familiar face in Mike Warburton but again was too strong 8-4.
This forms part of MAD’s different structure with four divisions as part of this on a pyramid system with Super Regional, National, Continental and finally World level. Any existing champion in this pyramid can go higher but automatically vacates their title.
In December Williams managed to become the first 'belt' winner by dealing with Richie Burnett. The Quiff keeps the Welsh title until he is defeated by a potential challenger which could be the former World Championship semi-finalist.
