Legendary BDO trophies including Lakeside World Championship and World Masters to be sold on auction site

The famous BDO trophies given to the winners at Lakeside and the Winmau World Masters, among others, are set to be sold through auction.

Through this website, all trophies from the major BDO tournaments are for sale. The trophies are offered by Lambert Smith Hampton. Many have feared that all profits will go to Des Jacklin, the infamous final chairman of the BDO but it seems with new Companies House statements due next month - it will instead be used to repay creditors from the demise of the BDO.
Jacklin went to great lengths in recent years to get the trophies back from the previous winners. John O'Shea, winner of the last BDO World Masters in 2019, initially refused to give his trophy back to Jacklin. The latter filed a lawsuit against O'Shea, but before it came to that, O'Shea decided to hand it back.
This was the final trophy needed to start this auction with Wayne Warren's being collected during the COVID-19 pandemic which garnered major criticism at a time when many couldn't leave their homes, while controversy again surrounded Mikuru Suzuki having her World title returned which was done so in person at Lakeside with murmurings of police being present which was refuted by the WDF.
It remains to be seen if the trophies will be bought by the likes of the UKDA/ADC in order to keep the prestige alive or even the WDF who have had to get new trophies after they were not handed over after the demise of the BDO with the commercial arm going into liquidation who owned the trophies.

- I loved Jan and loved his walk on music "Explode" by Jordan & Baker. I think if he stuck around the BDO he definitely would have been World Champion, should have won in 2014, he never really showed any of his talent in the PDC. I remembered he worked in a bank or in finance and maybe that was his priority, he was also a fan and interested in magic. Definitely should have achieved much more in darts than he did. - This is exactly what I mean,littler survives the 1st round,I think you'll find a lot of other players did. Can you just report on the real sport,and not just 1 person. I like Luke,but this is getting boring now,as Kevin painter once said to Taylor!! The sport is about every player,not 1 who everyone seems to have put the sport on the map.,which he hasn't,he's just got in when the money is massive.
