A brand new tournament is set to take place at Lakeside from next year to replace the BDO World Championship, it has been revealed.

Bob Potter OBE had previously set his intentions to host a new event at the hotel in Frimley Green after the BDO decided to move to the Indigo at the O2.
LiveDarts broke the news on Monday evening as a result that there will be a new tournament and that it's scheduled for Easter 2020.
It was originally mooted for the dates in which the BDO World's usually takes place but this was only just in case the issues with their event actually occurred.
The event will use top players from all bodies and codes worldwide with only PDC Tour Card holders exempt - this means it will be male and female players from the BDO, WDF, PDC Challenge Tour, Development Tour and Soft-Tip.
It will also include a £200,000 prize fund and despite the size of the field and format not being revealed yet, there will supposedly be a new format utilised.
Darts brands are currently in talks about partnerships and tickets could be on sale very soon for what promises to be an interesting new event as what many call the home of World darts stays alive!
