Matthew Edgar had a consistent PDC
Summer Series and this included a brilliant victory over
Gary Anderson on the final day when he hit a 170 finish to claim victory.
It is a moment he has referenced multiple times since it occurred and ahead of the PDC Autumn Series, he looked back on the reaction to his win.
"I went on the live stream against Harald Leitinger and I won that one, then I played Mensur Suljovic and I won that one. Then I played Gary Anderson in the board final and I missed three match darts to defeat him. Painful feat." "I ended up playing him on the last day. This moment made my Twitter explode. How do you react when you've turned around a painful defeat."
"I just sort of double fist pumped without really without a big outlay of emotion because you can't quite cheer because it puts off the other boards. But then came the interesting bit - I turned around, Gary goes well played man, great shot. I said cheers Gary can I have your flights and as I am doing that I'm taking the flights out of his dart. I'm stood there taking the flights out of his darts." "He goes do you just want the darts. I'm like no I'll take the flights, he offers it again. He puts it in his case. I'm like that was a stupid decision."
