Fallon Sherrock made history Friday in the
Modus Super Series. She became the first woman to manage to throw a nine darter live on television.
After her nine-darter, there was much ado on social media about the fact that it was only shown on a small channel (Sporty Stuff TV) and that there were no spectators in the room.
"People are more concerned about what the referee did or the fact there was no big celebration. Let's just celebrate the achievement, She's the first female player to hit a nine-darter on live TV. I don't care what television it's on, what time of the world it's on," said former pro darter
Chris Mason, who comments at the Modus Super Series.
"Let's just focus on the positive, she's made history. It's going to bounce around the world. The viewing numbers on the varying platforms are absolutely enormous. All that can do is put more eyes on the sport which is what she has continuously done for the last three or four years. We all benefit, it's a positive for sport and women's sport. It's just typical of the world we live in, we focus on the negative."
