The 2018
PDC Calendar has been released and alongside all the usual PDC majors and Pro Tour events there is some new additions for the new year. European Darts fans have received a boost by the introduction of a new Premier League Event in Germany to add to the Rotterdam one already on the calendar which has been a huge success since coming onto the calendar. The event will be held at Berlin's Mercedes-Benz arena on Thursday February 22nd
Also introduced is the new European Qualifying school which will run at the same time as the one in Wigan allowing more players than ever who don't want to pay all the money to come over the chance to join the PDC tour.
The European Tour has been extended with 13 tournaments now for next year with Copenhagen getting an event which will hopefully heighten the popularity of the sport in Denmark. As usual 8 will be held in Germany and 1 each in Austria and Gibraltar usual staples of that tour.
The Masters will start the year off as usual with the top 16 battling it out for the title held by Michael Van Gerwen in Milton Keynes (held on January 26-28th).
A week later the Premier League will start in Dublin with also 8 Pro Tour events (6 PC's and 2 UK Open Qualifiers) being held in February.
March will see the UK Open followed by more Players Championship and the first two European Tour events in one of the biggest months on the calendar.
April will see two Players Championship double-headers along side two Euro Tour weekends and the same in May.
The World Cup will take place at the end of May before 3 more European Tours including the Copenhagen debut and then in July we will get the usual World Matchplay.
The Champions League of Darts will have it's third staging in September before a week later we get the World Grand Prix from Dublin
October sees a debut in Dortmund for the European Championship and November sees 3 events in the month in the form of the World Series of Darts Finals, Grand Slam of Darts and Players Championship Finals as well as the World Youth Championship Final before we get the World Championships in December-January to round off a busy calendar.
The Challenge Tour and Development Tour will have 20 events each including 5 double header weekends in the Challenge Tour allowing more opportunities than ever for all players.
