Anderson gains £45,000 for nine dart finish at World Matchplay

Gary Anderson summed up a brilliant match on the World Matchplay stage on Thursday night by smashing in a nine darter to send the Winter Gardens crowd into raptures.

For that nine darter there is also massive financial reward for Anderson with him claiming £45,000 unless another player hits one in the latter stages of the World Matchplay.
To put that into perspective, the prize money for the tournament win is £115,000 so if Anderson won on Sunday, he’d be pocketing £160,000. Also in the nine darter it means he gained £5,000 for every dart he threw in the finish.
