Gary Anderson will face Jeffrey de Zwaan in the first semi-final of the World Matchplay as he saw off Joe Cullen in an absolute classic on the Winter Gardens stage.

Anderson started off the game by setting the trend for the match by hitting a nine darter. From there we were treated to a spectacle where Cullen went 12-10 up only to be pegged back and he also hit a 170 along the way.
It went to sudden death after Cullen missed darts to win the match including one at double 9 where a fly got in his eyeline when he was throwing.
Anderson cleaned up in a match that was exciting till the end and deserved a last leg shootout. Friday will see the final semi-final lineup confirmed and if tonight is anything to go by they have a tough act to follow.
