'I can be number one in the world' - Rob Cross ahead of quarter-final clash with MVG

Rob Cross will play in his second consecutive TV quarter-final after defeating Kyle Anderson but had to survive a scare against 'The Original' who returned from 5-2 to down to force a decider and potentially put heed to Voltage's work but he got through it and next has the test of Michael van Gerwen, a man he has only beaten once in a Euro Tour match earlier this year but he believes in his ability ahead of the match and believes in the future he can be world number one.
Cross said: "I was flying last weekend and thought I could beat him. If I play as well as I can then I know I can get close to Michael."
Cross has reached number 24 in the world despite only becoming a professional ten months ago, but has his sights set higher as he continues his emergence.
"I believe I can be number one in the world," he added. "I know I've got to earn the right and have a lot to learn like Adrian Lewis did early in his career and like Michael had to do as well, but the belief is there."

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises.
